File preparation

Files should be 300 DPI Jpeg or Tiff format with a maximum file size of 300Mb. Please speficfy requirements for your image such as over all dimensions, border size, quantity, and substrate.

If you do not include a border, we will leave approximately ¼ to ½ inch of extra border.

Files that require basic processing before printing (resizing, color space correction, layer flattening, etc) will be subject to a preparation/handling charge. More advanced processing will be billed at $95/hour with your pre-approval.

For accurate colors, we suggest using a calibrated monitor. If you work on an uncalibrated monitor, the colors you see on your monitor may not match those on the printed image. You can also soft-proof your image in Adobe Photoshop by downloading the appropriate ICC profiles for the substrate of your choice. We print using an Epson Ultrachrome Stylus Pro 9600.

Files should be 8-bit color in the Adobe RGB 1998 colorspace.

  1. If you are printing a large image, you may want order a small (minimum 8 × 10") test print before ordering the large format print. The cost of your test print will be applied to the cost of the full-size print when you decide to go forward.

2) Opacity is the degree to which light passes through the paper. Most paper exhibits a certain degree of translucency, so if you hold it up to the light, you can see what’s on the other side.

3) Weight is how heavy or thick a paper is. Thick paper has a look and feel about it that denotes quality and importance.

4) Texture, also known as surface or smoothness, refers to how the paper looks and feels. Depending upon a number of factors (such as how it's manufactured, if it's coated or uncoated. Paper can be smooth or slick, grained or pebbled, matte or silk.
